Audio CDs can be created using MP3, WAV, MP3, FLAC, WMA and OGG files on your hard drive and you can also burn video discs that you are able to use in a regular DVD player. You can still burn files to not only CD and DVD, but also Blu-ray, and there is a simple wizard that guides you through the process of creating all manner of different disc types. The fact that the program is available free of charge does not mean that you have to make compromises.
The problem with many dedicated disc burning tools is that they are either expensive to buy or complex to use. But if you want to do anything more advanced, such as performing a more involved backup, or creating a video disc, the built in tools are just not going to cut it. With Windows installed you have the ability to burn basic discs so you can backup files or transfer documents between computers.
